What is it?
Mix it up is a structured information gathering acitivity, useful learning activity for transferring lots of factual information amongst pupils.
How does it work?
Place the students into equal sized groups, how many groups depends on how much information there is!
Give all the groups a timed deadline to work towards.
When the deadline is up, count or give a letter to each of the students.
The students then migrate to a designated table for that number/letter.
Each new table will have a student from all of the groups.
Students then take it in turn to transfer their knowledge on the area they covered.
I have found this activity works great and the students really buy into it. The activity gives a great natural pace to the lesson.
